Look, you still love your ex. After all of this time, you still do. Even after meeting new people, you never stopped. Although other men have proven themselves, you miss him. I get it, okay? The truth is, you're always going to love your ex and that's just the way it is. As much as he's hurt you, you've always found it in yourself to forgive him. As broken as he left you, you've always found a way to see the good in him. As crazy as it sounds, you've always managed to not hate him. All because you have too big of a heart, and I know you hate yourself for it because it's that big heart of yours that's keeping you from moving on, but you know what? It's okay that you still love your ex, and it's because you've been fighting with yourself to not love him anymore that's preventing you from moving forward. Just because you love him, doesn't mean you have to be with him. You and him aren't together for a reason, but that also doesn't mean you have to completely forget about him and what an impact he's had on your life. You just have to come to terms with you and him are leading different lives now and accept that this is for the best and only then will you be able to find the closure you need. Just know that he feels the exact same way about you, okay? And who knows? Maybe one day you will find your way back to each other, or someone better will find you, but you'll never know if you don't let yourself let him go first.
